Casa Myrna Vazquez, Inc.
Casa Myrna delivers solutions to end domestic and dating violence through intervention, awareness and prevention. We believe that every relationship should be safe and healthy. Casa Myrna was founded in 1977 by activists in Boston's South End to provide a safe haven for women who were being abused by their partners. Today Casa Myrna is Boston's largest provider of domestic violence shelter, supportive services and public awareness efforts.
Each year, we serve over 1,600 survivors through: financial literacy education and job readiness skill building; residential shelter programs, including support for victims of commercial sexual exploitation; housing assistance and advocacy; individual and group counseling; legal advocacy and representation; children's services; and community-based advocacy. Casa Myrna also operates SafeLink, Massachusetts' statewide 24/7 toll-free domestic violence hotline that answers over 28,000 calls annually. And to end domestic and dating violence, we provide awareness and prevention education to teens and adults across the state through workshops, trainings, social media, engagement with the media, and annual ad campaigns on mass transit systems.
