Become a Reading Partner - help a child learn to read, support literacy in your community

Here at Reading Partners, we know that the ability to read transforms lives and empowers children to reach their full potential. Reading Partners Baltimore mobilizes community volunteers to provide students in 16 schools throughout the city with the proven, individualized reading support they need to read at grade level by fourth grade.

Volunteers work with students during weekly tutoring sessions, offering students the one-on-one support they need to master key foundational reading skills. Volunteers not only build meaningful relationships with their students, they also boost student engagement in education and contribute to the success of their community.

No prior teaching experience is required and anyone over 14 years old can volunteer! Session times are flexible during school hours (Mondays to Thursdays, between 8am and 3:30 pm), and volunteers can tutor with as little as one hour each week.
