About Us

Island Culture Archival Support (ICAS) is an international 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the archival preservation of cultural identity and memory belonging to national and public archives, libraries, cultural centers, organizations and institutions of the South Pacific countries of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia who are underprivileged, underfunded and understaffed.

The specific purposes for which this nonprofit corporation was formed are to support national, university and private archives of the South Pacific Island countries and help preserve records created for business, accountability or cultural purposes. The organization will make every effort to bring the locals into the decision-making process, and will not impose individual views or processes on local people. However, the organization will endeavor to add value by advising, encouraging and working with local people to support their efforts in building their future and preserving their past.
