We’ve all known teachers who pay out of their own pockets for things to help their students … things for the class?room, books, posters, etc. What you may not realize is that they pay for much more out of their own pockets. If parents cannot afford to pay for a field trip for a child, teachers will often put in the money themselves rather than leave that child behind. If a family is struggling, teachers will reach into their own pockets to pay for something like a special class project or an activity fee rather than putting a child through the embarrassment of being left out.

At the same time, there are many generous people who would gladly help a child … if they only knew about the need!

That's where e-Angels come in. We identify needs which may be keeping children from fully participating in their education and reach out to those who want to help.

How does it work?

As soon as a need is identified, it is posted to our website, e-Angels.org. We also use Facebook and Twitter to quickly spread the word to our social media contacts. In addition, we send out e-mails to our donor base. Tax-deductible donations can be made by credit card, debit card, Paypal or check. e-Angels is also a member of the eBay Giving Works program. Once it is determined that the need is within the scope of our mission statement and funds are available to meet the need, e-Angels will make a discreet payment on the child’s behalf.

Q. Do I need to pay anything to join the e-Angels? A. No. There is no membership fee and there is no minimum donation require?ment to remain active on our e-Angels list.

Q. Who can submit a request for assistance from the e-Angels?

A. Anyone can submit a need for consideration by going to www.e-Angels.org and clicking on the “Need Help?” tab. e-Angels will review the request to determine: (1) whether the request meets the criteria of our mission statement; and (2) whether we have the resources to meet the need. Upon reviewing the request, e-Angels will notify the person who requested, usually in a week or less, if we will be able to assist with filling this need.

Q. Do you name the children who need help?

A. Never. Both the children in need and the generous e-Angels retain their anonymity.

Q. Is there a minimum donation amount?

A. No. Many of the needs we fill are very small expenses that the child's family just cannot afford.

Q. What if I no longer wish to participate as an e-Angel?

A. We respect the privacy of our e-Angels and never sell or share your information. To be removed from our mailing list, simply send an e-mail to help@e-angels.org.
