Iran Academia - The Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities - is founded with the overall objective to create and facilitate access to education, teaching and knowledge transfer in the realm of social sciences and humanities in such ways that take account of the theoretical, discursive and practical gaps and erasures that characterize the state of social sciences education in Iran. Its intervention aims at enabling Iranian youth from all political, religious and ethnic backgrounds to access higher education and develop and apply critical thinking skills to a diverse range of social justice, political and human rights issues that are important to Iran’s democratization and yet are excluded from Iran’s higher education curriculum.
