  • About Us

    Mission and History:

    The mission of the Latino Student Fund (LSF) is to provide opportunities for a strong academic foundation for under-served PreK-12th grade students of Hispanic descent and to promote higher education and professional leadership.

    The LSF was founded in 1994 to address the growing high school dropout rates among Latino students in Washington, DC. Over the years, we have continued to develop and expand our services to meet the evolving educational needs of the Hispanic community in the Greater Washington region.

    Goals:

    • To provide supplemental academic support for at-risk PreK-12th grade students living in predominantly non-English-speaking households;
    • To alleviate barriers to higher education among low-income, first-generation college-bound high school youth;
    • To provide parents and families with linguistically- and culturally-appropriate services and resources to help them successfully navigate the US educational system and serve as strong advocates for their children

    All of our services are offered to the community free of charge.
