Black and Indian Mission Office
- District of Columbia
The Black and Indian Mission Office is a not for profit entity based in Washington DC whose mission is to fulfill the Church’s primary mission of evangelization by assisting the American Catholic bishops and their local diocesan communities in their efforts to proclaim the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The three organizations help to ‘shine the light of Christ’ in African American, Native American and Native Alaskan communities across the United States by providing grants for: parish community building and catechetical programs; Catholic elementary and secondary schools; evangelization programs; and vocation initiatives. The organizations also strive to play an advocacy role at a national level regarding issues and concerns that are important to African Americans, Native Americans and Alaskan Natives.
