Tap Project DC

Washington, DC

  • About Us

Tap Project DC is helping the Tap Project go nationally this year. This is the first year that UNICEF's Tap Project will be in DC.

We will organize participating restaurants, and raise awareness to address the problem of access to clean drinking water. Lack of access to clean water is the second greatest cause of death in children under 5 worldwide.

From March 16 - 22, customers can donate a minimum of $1 for the tap water they normally get for free. For every dollar raised, a child can have clean drinking water for 40 days. UNICEF can also use the funds to provide water purification tablets in crisis situations.

More than 1 billion people do not have access to clean water or adequate sanitation, and 1 in 5 of them are children.
