  • About Us

AACE Upward Bound at the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) is a community agency-based pre-college TRIO Program. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, AACE Upward Bound's mission is to instill in low-income, first generation college students the motivation to complete secondary education and to enter and succeed in a program of study at the postsecondary level. Students participate in a year-round, comprehensive academic program which prepares them with the skills to meet the the academic and personal challenges of college.

Students are recruited from five (5) target high schools in the San Francisco Unified School District: Balboa High, Galileo Academy of Science & Technology, International Studies Academy (ISA), Mission High, and John O'Connell High.
