  • About Us

Mission statement: Our purpose is to give parents and caregivers tools to create a rich learning environment for their children. Since July 2015, the Program has served more than 1500 adults and 400 children. By offering free parenting classes to the public, the Family Engagement Program strives to give parents and caregivers tools to create a rich learning environment for their children.

    Description of classes:

Brainwaves Class: This three-class series shares the wonders of how children's brains grow and learn. Parents will increase their knowledge of early brain development; the development of emotions and temperament; and strategies to guide and strengthen young children.

Triple P Stepping Stones: Stepping Stones is a series (6 in-person or 12 virtual + 3 phone consultations) designed for families of children with a range of disabilities including autism spectrum disorders and elevated levels of disruptive behavior. As with all Triple P courses, parents learn how to improve their relationship with their child, set goals for positive behavior, develop routines and plan for high-risk situations. This class has a special emphasis on communication, problem-solving, self-care and self-regulation.

Garden Discovery Days: Parents and kids will buzz like bees, emerge as a beautiful butterflies and cluck like chickens! Garden Discovery Days are adventures that connect your child with the garden as they learn where their food comes from and engage in nature crafts. Children are involved in the entire class.
