About Us

Institute MOSINTUWU is a grassroots community movement in the post-conflict area of Poso, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The organization’s vision is to secure peace and sovereignty for the people of Poso. Their vision extends to social, economic, political, cultural, and civil rights. The mission of MOSINTUWU is to develop the discourse of civil sovereignty.

At Institute MOSINTUWU we are focused on the following:

  • Empowerment Through Education with programs such as the Poso Women’s School and the Project Sophia Mobile Library
  • Protection, Recovery and Empowerment for victims of domestic violence including the development of a Safe House (now in progress) and serving as a center of information on domestic violence and a resource/support for its victims
  • Community and Economic Development through building awareness of enviornmental issues and finding creative ways to develop eco-tourism in Poso
