About Us

Prince Georges Feral Friends, SPCA (PGFF) educates, supports and advocates for fair and humane treatment of animals. Our KIND News program provided humane education newsletters to public school students in a number of County schools. Our Community Cat Management program has taught several hundred people how to safely capture and manage community cats by sterilizing and providing basic veterinary care for them. That program was honored to receive a national foundation grant in 2004, the only such program in the County to do so. A program established by citizens concerned about animal issues, PGFF is proudly volunteer-based but it is a learning organization as well. Volunteers coach others in community cat management, but they also analyze animal control activities and data, and study shelter budgets so that they can advocate for prudent fiscal support for animal welfare programs.
