United Nations Assoc. of Greater Miami Young Professionals for Int'l Cooperation

Young Professionals for International Cooperation is a program of the United Nations Association of the United States of America that seeks to engage young professionals to promote effective US involvement in international affairs and in the United Nations. UNA -USA YPIC members are typically between the ages of 21-40 and come from the diverse fields of business, law, communications, public relations, government, the nonprofit sector, the arts and philanthropy.

UNA USA YPIC also promotes and works to achieve the U.N. Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

The MDG Goals are:

1. 1) Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2. 2) Achieve universal primary education
3. 3) Promote gender equality and empower women
4. 4) Reduce child mortality
5. 5) Improve maternal health
6. 6) Combat HIV/ AIDS, malaria and other diseases
7. 7) Ensure environmental sustainability
8. 8) Develop a global partnership for development

In addition, UNA-USA YPIC provides a unique forum for:

• Staying informed on global issues through newsletters and speaker events

• Collaborating through strategic partnerships with other organizations including the World Federation of UNAs member YPIC groups on local and international projects

• Professional growth through career development, business best practices and leadership seminars

• Networking opportunities

• Having fun while making a positive difference
