About Us

As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association, The Fourth Universalist Society is dedicated to provide a welcoming religious community for all who affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Unitarian Universalism is a creedless faith, one without dogma or threats of eternal punishment, yet we are a demanding faith, one that calls on the power of our minds, our hearts and our hands to create a better world.

As a congregation we seek to nurture the spiritual growth of one another and of our children, and to reach beyond our doors with love and openness that we may more fully embrace, with our faith, and honor, through our action, our Unitarian Universalist heritage of religious pluralism, social justice, reason, and compassion.

As Religious Educators we seek multiple ways to honor a learner’s religious exploration. We create an environment where we not only educate about many religious traditions, but we also foster a safe and encouraging environment where learners can explore profound questions. We do this by teaching Unitarian Universalist identity, philosophy, and history while simultaneously examining our Jewish-Christian heritage, other world religions, humanism, and earth-centered spirituality. Religious Education in Unitarian Universalist congregations honor an individual’s exploration by providing no single answer to religious questions.

In addition, we seek to provide an environment where learners of all ages can experience something greater than themselves: a rich and joyful fellowship dedicated to a loving and non-judgmental community.
