    Mission. The NWF’s mission is to honor and preserve the history of women’s contributions to social justice and inspire the next generation to continue the fight. It will:

    1. Promote the preservation and understanding of women’s history and civic participation including collaboration with the community and other organizations with related missions.
    2. Educate the public concerning the achievements and contributions of women in our society and promote social justice and democratic values of respect, tolerance, inclusion, and conflict resolution.
    3. Help preserve the Whittemore House–and related art and archives–a focal point of women's history in the District of Columbia for more than a century.
