  • About Us

Several years ago, Roger Grunwald conceived and first brought to the stage an original Holocaust-themed stage work that, since 2014, he has been touring internationally to considerable acclaim. Over the course of 2016, Mr. Grunwald rewrote, re-conceived and reworked The Mitzvah Project (the title of the original production and the name of the project that is fiscally-sponsored by the New York Foundation for the Arts) transforming the short play and lecture into a new, full-length one-person stage drama called The Obligation. The new play, which will have its theatrical (and world) premiere in the fall of 2017 under the direction of Nancy Carlin, incorporates, expands upon and deepens the narratives, characters and themes of The Mitzvah Project.
