About Us

The Indo Ocean Project is a marine research and conservation program located in marine protected areas (MPA's) across Indonesia. We have field expeditions running year round in some of Indonesia's top diving destinations with research projects aimed towards marine mega fauna conservation efforts including sharks, rays, turtles, and sunfish. We host multiple local and international research projects and we are constantly seekingly hardworking and enthusiastic people who want to take part in our research diver training program at one of our field stations or expeditions.

You don't need to be a diver or a scientist to take part! Our knowledgeable international staff of marine biologists and dive instructors are there to welcome you and train you in diving techniques and methodology.

Indonesia has been ranked as the #1 Shark and Ray fishing nation in the world for the last few decades. With the rapid population decline worldwide NOW is the time for action.
