The Illinois Green Business Association

The Illinois Green Business Association (IGBA) is a 501C3 non-profit organization that is committed to improving sustainable practices in Illinois businesses through education and engagement. Our vision is that a sustainable business culture is the standard practice of economic activity. Companies, communities, and consumers will thrive through healthy, mutually beneficial relationships that are diverse, resilient and balanced.

IGBA has three main programs: green business certification, efficient equipment installation and assessments, and education, including an annual Illinois Green Business Summit. One of IGBA’s primary programs is a green business certification program that helps businesses adopt and integrate more environmentally-friendly practices. IGBA staff offers personalized services that identify opportunities to improve environmental efficiency in nine different areas. The IGBA’s green business certification program offers flexibility and a customized plan that fits individual business’ needs and reduction goals. This comprehensive, business-friendly program enables businesses to be part of the solution, encouraging business leadership and inspiring the business community, employees, and consumers to learn from successes and results of sustainable actions.
