About Us

African women and newborns have a relatively high risk of dying or becoming permanently physically (and thus socially) handicapped during pregnancy and in childbirth.

Our MISSION is to bring down mother and child mortality in sub-Saharan Africa. For this purpose, AWA has developed a novel concept to provide access to health care for mother and newborn, in combination with empowerment of African women.

In our VISION, lack of women's rights is an integral part of the health problem in Africa.

In our SOLUTION, we use new approaches in which innovative technologies - allowing protocol-driven remote monitoring and remote coaching of local health workers and continuous knowledge exchange – play a central role.
