  • About Us

The mission of Doc Wayne is to fuse sport and therapy to heal and strengthen youth. As an organization, we have been providing high quality therapeutic, educational and recreational programming for young people for more than a decade. Our interventions are based on the do the good® curriculum, a series of sports-adapted life skills and coaching behaviors designed (and empirically demonstrated) to achieve positive development outcomes among youth participants. Our organization's historical expertise centers on engaging a variety of at-risk youth populations, particularly those who have suffered from complex trauma, mental illness and familial dysfunction, through the medium of team sports and sports-based exercises. Our do the good®(DtG) curriculum and Chalk Talk® group therapy programs are based on The Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency Framework and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and are designed to:

    • Promote a youth's personal development
    • Improve his/her capacity for pro-social relationships
    • Maximize his/her capacity for inclusion and participation in therapy and school
    • Become an experience that youth can apply to all other aspects of their lives on and off the field to help youth control their emotions and behavior as they face the tasks of life
