  • About Us

The Mama Project was founded in 2012 to increase literacy and professional skills of women in developing countries for sustainable socioeconomic development. Our team is composed of volunteer professionals and graduate students who believe that educational opportunities can provide the tools for socioeconomic empowerment and gender equity. We partner with local organizations to develop literacy and teacher training workshop series for women. The long-term goal is to construct community centers, administered by local women themselves, where other women can come to acquire literacy and life and vocational skills.
