About Us

The HOPE House is an intentional covenant community in Chicago's Back of the Yards that can accommodate ten (10) residents who volunteer twenty (20) hours per month at the Port Ministries. Candidates who are eligible are selected via an application and interview process. The selections are based on candidate’s experience, understanding of organization’s mission, community diversity, and desire to actively participate in spiritual communal living. Residents are asked to focus their volunteering on developing and supervising projects and services that allow them to take advantage of their skill set and passions while addressing the needs of the community.
