RESULTS Tampa Bay

In a world that produces enough resources each year to feed every person on the planet, no child should have to die in vain from starvation or easily preventable diseases. In pursuit of creating a different world, the Tampa Bay RESULTS chapter strives to build the foundations of independence through citizen advocacy.

We conduct face-to-face meetings and use social and print media so that effective anti-poverty programs can receive the attention, policies, and funding they need.

The actions from everyday people across the country have already made a difference in preventing childhood deaths through vaccinations, nutritional programs and maternal health.  Gains have been made in providing equality in educational opportunities through the Education for All Act and the Global Partnership for Education.  In addition we are working to improve the U.S. investment in microfinance and the global fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Speaking up is ever more critical now because we can't allow Congress to balance the budget on the backs of the poorest people!
