About Us

The International Organization for Self-Determination and Equality (IOSDE) assists in matters of self-determination and equality.

IOSDE is a registered non-profit, non-governmental, voluntary organization based in Sweden and working internationally that offers free confidential and public assistance to peoples, communities or persons experiencing violations of their rights to self-determination and/or equality and advocates for genuine processes of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) therein. IOSDE specializes in legal consultation and strategic advocacy utilizing international law, participatory decision-making, and networking for rights-based social change. We specialize in rights to culture, traditional territories, Indigenous Rights and the rights of Tribal Peoples, traditional healing, and gender, political and legal equality as well as criminal justice. IOSDE assists in decolonizing at all levels, from support for UN Decolonization, to self-determined strategy and decision-making, to community-based and individual healing and equality, and offers supportive research, networking and writing. IOSDE supports both traditional governance mechanisms and new and hybrid governing mechanisms as well as traditional tribal and Indigenous laws with respect to international Indigenous, Peoples' and Human Rights. IOSDE also assists in the creating of hybrid models of law and governance through both participatory methods and culturally-sensitive consultation. We put a highest value on the rights of victims and communities to own decision-making, justice, fairness, visibility and voice, as well as accountability therein of leaderships and stakeholders alike. IOSDE respects diversity as well as needs resulting from cross-cultural communication.
