About Us

Chirapaq (Center for Indigenous Peoples’ Cultures of Peru), is an indigenous-led, civil society organization dedicated to promoting the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples in Peru, at the national and international level. Activities are oriented around the objective to affirm the cultural identity of Andean and Amazonian indigenous communities, promoting the harmonious relationship between the many diverse cultures and communities of Peru, acknowledging the pluricultural and multilingual character of the country. Chirapaq was founded by Ford Foundation Visionary Tarcila Rivera Zea.
