About Us

Founded in 1980, the Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) identifies and serves academically talented students, helping them develop their full abilities. Because these students are often under-challenged in their traditional classroom settings, they depend on the resources and innovative programs that Duke TIP offers to reach their true potential. To date, over 2.8 million students from all economic backgrounds have benefited from one or more of TIP’s services.

TIP's services include identification of academic talent, testing, intellectual enrichment, educational programs, and original research. The information gained from research is used to inform families and teachers on how to best support their gifted students.
