University of Orange
15 S. Essex Ave
The University of Orange is a free university of the people. It was founded 2007, growing out of celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the fight for school desegregation in Orange, New Jersey. The purpose of the University of Orange is to help people understand how Orange, NJ can become the urban village of the 21st Century, a Just and Beautiful City. We do this through civic engagement, community development, lifelong learning, and by encouraging everyone to graduate from U of O each year. To graduate, you must: Vote, Volunteer, Attend a City Meeting, Have Fun with your Neighbors, and take 2 U of O Courses of your choice. A diploma from University of Orange shows you care about making the world a better place.
At U of O we believe that everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn. Therefore, anyone can be a teacher and anyone can be a student. If there is a course you are interested in teaching or something you would like to learn more about, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or check out our website, www.universityoforange.org, to see the current courses available.
