About Us

Our Family Coalition advances equity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) families with children through support, education, and advocacy.

OFC offers family support programs that serve LGBTQ parents/caregivers and their children, providing educational workshops, parent peer support groups, and community-building events and activities; help foster institutional change that are focused on building cultural competency for working with LGBTQ families in elementary schools, early childhood settings, and health and social service providers; and engage in policy and advocacy work to advance the equality of LGBTQ families. These three areas of work inform and build on one another. Throughout our programs, we have focused resources on deepening our work with families and the communities in which they live.

OFC is the largest local LGBTQ family organization in the country, producing more than 150 individual programs in the last year. OFC has a membership of more than 750 families, directly serves approximately 3,000 people each year and reaches thousands more, including straight allies such as parents, service providers, and educators. OFC has a staff of nine and an anticipated budget of just under $1 Million for fiscal year 2012-13. OFC has been increasingly active in statewide efforts addressing marriage equality and LGBTQ family issues. For more information about Our Family Coalition, please visit www.ourfamily.org.
