Artists for Alzheimer's (ARTZ)

About Us

The Artists for Alzheimer's (ARTZ) mission is to enrich the cultural life of people living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, enable them to express their inner selves, and lessen the stigma that often accompanies a diagnosis. ARTZ invites individual artists of all kinds to volunteer their time and talents in the form of workshops or performances at Alzheimer's residences. These artists help people with Alzheimer's reconnect to their inner selves and find new outlets for creative expression. In addition, ARTZ develops Alzheimer's-specific cultural access programs. In New York City, some of our past cultural partners include the Museum of Modern Art, the Big Apple Circus, the Bowery Poetry Club, and the Tribeca Film Institute.
