Save Malibu Lagoon

About Us

Save Malibu Lagoon is an Organization that has emerged in response to the planned excavation of one Southern California’s only wetland habitats.

The excavation plan, also known as The Malibu Enhancement and Restoration Project is to bulldoze, excavate and grade over 88-thousand cubic yards of mud and wetlands which provide a habitat for hundreds of species of wildlife, including multiple endangered animals.

There is a lot of history, as well as a lot of politics, concerning this matter; they can be confusing to one who is not familiar with it, making some people question our opposition to the Malibu Enhancement and Restoration Project. Essentially, while the plan is being presented as restorative, it is actually unnecessarily destroying vital wetlands.

We are looking for a multitude of volunteers, including community outreach, attending events, and disseminating information to the public. There are opportunities which may be done locally at the Malibu Lagoon, and others which may be done from home.

Please visit www.savemalibulagoon.com for further information.

We are in serious need of help, as the bulldozing is scheduled to take place in June. If you have any questions, please feel free to call 310 579 7698.
