Oak Leaf Cooperative School
About Us
We set the foundation for children to become responsible citizens and environmental stewards.
OUR MISSION
1. To provide developmentally appropriate, play-based early childhood education that promotes respect for people and nature.
2. To use outdoor learning to foster curiosity, compassion, empathy, cultural awareness, creative problem-solving, and environmental responsibility in young children.
3. To build community by involving parents and teachers in all aspects of program operations.
WHY CO-OPS?
Our programs for preschoolers and homeschoolers are governed by parent-teacher committees. All co-op members contribute in some way to program operations. The goal is to build community, form a true collaboration between teachers and parents, empower parents as co-educators, provide teachers with the autonomy to run their own programs and keep tuition affordable. Our long-term goal is to provide the nonprofit infrastructure for parents and teachers to start new programs under the Oak Leaf umbrella.
