About Us
Justice Innovation Lab (JIL) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to positively influence the practice of prosecutors in District Attorney’s offices across the country by encouraging a more creative, empathetic, and cost effective approach to prosecution. In so doing, JIL’s approach is grounded in deep experience and a core belief that prosecutors, whose decisions affect the lives of tens of thousands of Americans every single day, are the most powerful actors and greatest potential agents of positive change in the criminal justice system.
Prosecutors want to do better, but they need help. JIL gives them the data-driven tools they need to design more equitable solutions, and helps them build a culture capable of sustaining those tools over the long term.
