Rosedale Development Association

Rosedale Development Association is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit community development corporation, serving the Rosedale area of Kansas City, KS and Wyandotte County. RDA’s mission is to work in partnership with residents, businesses, and institutions to build a strong and healthy community and to improve the quality of life for those who live, work, and play in Rosedale.

2013 Goals

1. Advocate for policy and environmental changes that support a healthy Rosedale, including sidewalks, bicycle lanes, recreation opportunities and healthy food access
2. Develop plan for Environmental Learning Lab at Rosedale Middle School (to include trail and outdoor classrooms as well as curriculum and physical space for the lab)
3. Develop systems to recognize Rosedale businesses for healthy food options and pedestrian/bicycle friendly efforts
4. Advocate for increased transit options for Rosedale
5. Work with developers and businesses to look for opportunities in Rosedale in conjunction with the existing Rosedale master plans
6. Develop new communication strategies to reach Rosedale's diverse populations
7. Continue to develop neighborhood leadership and coordination through ongoing training and organizing work
8. Respond to the needs of the Rosedale community by serving as a resource and advocacy center for residents, businesses and local government
