Lokashakti

Lokashakti is a nonprofit organization based in New York City, working to promote peace and social justice around the world. We believe that all power is in the hands of the people, and that through collective nonviolent action we can free ourselves from injustice and war. By providing resources for networking, organizing, and education, we help empower groups and individuals seeking to create positive nonviolent social change.

Our efforts right now are focused on designing an online networking resource to help build the global movement for peace and social justice. Other projects include an online library and encyclopedia, designed to enhance our collective awareness and understanding of the history and techniques of nonviolent action. As an additional element to our organization, designed to both promote and help fund our work, Lokashakti is engaged in various endeavors centered around the creation and promotion of political and socially conscious protest music.
