Community Housing Association of Du Page (CHAD) was founded in 1983 in response to an overwhelming lack of affordable housing for low-to-moderate income residents. CHAD meets its mission by creating inventory starting initially with six rental units and today has 365 rentals and 29 homeownership properties. CHAD continues to purchase, build, rent and manage quality housing that is priced below market rate and saves our tenants more than $700,000 in rent annually and allows moderate-income people to purchase a home. We consistently seek creative development strategies to create more housing that is truly affordable, maintains quality, and meets middle to lower income people's needs.
