About Us

Founded in 1963, the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism facilitates understanding and collaboration among believers of various world religions: through education, dialogue, and spiritual initiatives such as the Interfaith Celebration to Peace, Know your Neighbour's Faith, Becoming Visible, and the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity as well as through strategic partnerships with faith and human rights organization throughout Canada such as the Canadian Race Relations foundation, Scarborough Missions, Canadian Council of Churches among many others. Its quarterly periodical Ecumenism is received in 40 countries and the Centre maintains a specialized 9,000-volume library accessible to the public. It is also a leader in promoting faith-based eco-friendly projects through the Green Church and EcoFaith projects. The Centre serves as a resource centre to tens of thousands who visit its website, participate in its activities or read its publications.
