Nonprofit Management Institute
The Nonprofit Management Institute was founded in 1993 out of the ASU College of Extended Education in Partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way. In 1999, the Institute moved to the Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Management, which was renamed the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation in 2008. The mission of the ASU Lodestar Center is to build the capicty of the social sector by enhancing the effectiveness of those who lead, manage, and support nonprofit organizations. Since 1999, the ASU Lodestar Center's Nonprofit Management Institute (NMI) has filled a unique educational niche by enabling hundreds of working adults to reach their professional development goals.
With online and in-person certificate programs, NMI is dedicated to building the capacity for those who lead, manage and support nonprofit organizations. The professional development certificates offered through NMI provide you with an unparalleled opportunity to develop and enhance your leadership and management skills, ensuring your organization thrives and grows.
NMI certificate offerings are rigorous in content and offered as non-credit courses. Certificates are open to individuals of all educational backgrounds and levels of experience. The majority of participants have already earned an associate, bachelor's, master’s or professional degree, but degree completion is not a prerequisite. Mostly, NMI participants share a common interest in seeking high-quality instruction and immediately-usable management tools in an environment designed especially for adult learning.
