Shambhala Phoenix Meditation Group
Phoenix Shambhala is part of an international community of meditation centers founded by Vidyahara the Venerable Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and now directed by his son and spiritual heir Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
The Shambhala path, unique in the world of Western Buddhism, combines the teachings of the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Tibetan Buddhism with the Shambhala view of living an uplifted life, fully engaged with the world.
"In essence, the emphasis of the Buddhist path is to help us attain enlightenment, and the emphasis of the Shambhala path is help us create and maintain a good society," says Sakyong Mipham. " When we put these two together, we have the Shambhalian Buddhist view of enlightened society."
Phoenix Shambhala is one of more than 150 centers and meditation groups throughout the world dedicated to helping people achieve these benefits.
