North China Electric Power University

Founded in 1958, North China Electric Power University has 10 schools, including Electrical and Electronic Engineering School, Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering School, Control and Computer Engineering School, Economics and Management School, Environmental Science and Engineering School, Renewable Energy School, Nuclear Science and Engineering School, Mathematics and Physics School, Humanities and Social Sciences School, and Foreign Language School, totally 57 undergraduate majors. The university has two national key subjects (Power System and Automation, and Thermal Power Engineering), 25 provincial key subjects. Its "Engineering Science" and "Environmental Sciences/Ecology" subjects rank top 1% of ESI. The "Electrical Engineering" and "Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics" subjects have been evaluated as "Class A" by the 2017 National Subjects Assessment. According to the 2017 World University Rankings by Subject issued by U.S.NEWS, the engineering discipline of NCEPU ranks 114th among the world and 20th among colleges and universities in China.

NCEPU regards Internationalization Strategy as an important basis to improve school-running level and it has been taking an active part in the national strategy of “Belt and Road” and zealously promoting diverse international exchanges and cooperation such as “2+2”, “3+1” and “4+0” baccalaureate degree joint-education programs and continuous joint-education programs from bachelor to master degrees. NCEPU has developed cooperative relationship with more than 40 countries and regions including Middle Europe and East Europe, covering at least 120 international universities and research institutes. About 600 international students from 48 countries have been studying in Beijing and Baoding campuses. Besides, the Confucius Institute established by NCEPU in West Kentucky University is the largest Confucius Institute in North America and is one of the exemplary Confucius Institutes among the world.Every year hundreds of talented Chinese students from NCEPU are sent to these partner universities such as Purdue University, The University of Wisconsin, The University of Missouri, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Western Kentucky University, Illinois Institute of Technology, The University of Texas at Arlington, The University of Manchester, University of Strathclyde, Cardiff University, University of Bath and so on.

The English teachers are always welcome to teach English language and culture at NCEPU and they are expected to teach courses like English Writing, Spoken English, English Listening, Business English, Literature, Western Culture and so forth.
