About Us
Events of the Heart is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about women and heart disease. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America, but only 8% of women know they are at risk. The myth persists that heart disease is an “old man’s” problem. Through books, workshops, videos, theater and film our goal is to educate women about every aspect of heart disease–from prevention and genetic factors to the emotional and physical facets of the recovery process–as well as raise money for much needed woman specific research on this epidemic.
