Global Routes

Global Routes is a non-governmental, non-sectarian organization committed to strengthening our global community. To this end, we design community service/cross-cultural programs which bring people with different world views together. We offer programs for North American high school, Gap Year and college students in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Programs range in length from one to three months.

Global Routes' programs and internships seek to create compelling cross-cultural immersion opportunities for volunteers and local community members. To achieve this, we work closely with community members to design village projects that will foster meaningful communication and collaboration. We also incorporate multi-week homestays with local families in these communities to strengthen the connections and bonds between volunteers and community members. 

Our semester long Teaching Internship Program magnify this powerful experience with a homestay of multiple months and a teaching position in a local school. All of our programs incorporate the opportunity for inspired volunteers to design and implement a meaningful independent project.
