Sound Youth VISTA
About Us
The Sound Youth VISTA team is a program of YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish. We place AmeriCorps*VISTA members with partner nonprofit organizations that all share a common mission of empowering young people of the greater Seattle area. VISTA members serve full-time at partner sites building capacity, creating new programs and expanding existing services. This is done through a lens of social justice -creating parterships with community organizations to help create conditions for social, economic, and racial justice in Seattle. Members learn social justice and professional skills through the year in a supportive team environment, then apply them in their service.
Sound Youth Program Goals:
- To create resources for young people in the greater Seattle area.
- To address poverty as it impacts children, youth, and families.
- To approach our service through a lens of social justice and self care.
