  • About Us

The Scalesia Foundation is a private, non-profit organization investing 100% of its efforts in education in the Galapagos Islands. It was created in 1993 by a group of Galapagos citizens whose interest and commitment to quality education lead to the creation of the Tomás de Berlanga School. The founding group identified the need for an educational methodology that matches the reality of students who live in a World Heritage Site. Our goal is to provide Galapagos citizens with an exceptional quality education alternative. Today, the Tomás de Berlanga school is run with funds from national and foreign donors, as well as private funds.
