    Cafe Teatro Batey Urbano provides a safe space for Puerto Rican/Latino youth in Chicago to creatively express themselves in order to preserve history and culture and for community action.

    Work includes everything from spoken word, hip hop, and other forms of cultural and creative action, to health and education issues. Projects include the Participatory Democracy project, after school tutoring, and community and university publications.
