Youth LEAD

  • About Us

    Our society is culturally diverse and increasingly polarized. Hot-button topics are often met with silence or angry rhetoric. It is imperative that young people learn how to work with people who hold profoundly different beliefs to solve our most pressing problems. Through training, mentoring, and ongoing leadership opportunities, Youth LEAD gives young people and supporting adults the skills to respectfully navigate in our diverse world, regardless of the issues that divide their campus or community, including how to:

    • Communicate respectfully when they are unlikely to agree;
    • Facilitate conversations that transform angry rhetoric into nuanced understanding;
    • Organize diverse groups to address the challenges facing their communities; and,
    • Mentor and trainothers, ensuring long-term sustainable results.
