Amazing Love Development Organization

Amazing Love Development Organization (ALDO) is a Canadian not for profit organization with the objective of establishing schools, skills and leadership training centers in Uganda. We work with children in impoverished communities by empowering them to make positive changes in their lives. 

Our Mission is to:

• Inspire students to excel in their academics
• Support spiritual, social and character development
• Promote practical skills and leadership development

ALDO aims to fulfill its mandate using “E.L.T”

Education in rural areas: to help transform mindsets and promote innovation to reduce poverty, ignorance and disease.

Leadership Development: to help remove barriers and unleash the enormous potential that young people have, through experiences at home, school, community, and work, to create a positive impact in the community.

Training and skills development: to equip young people with skills training to help them become entrepreneurs and also enhance their employability.

Skills development is critical to rural development especially in predominantly agricultural communities. ALDO is supporting the community in farming, critical thinking skills and teamwork skills.

Local leaders have been trained in organizational and effective management principles. The school construction has provided young people with brick-laying and plastering exposure. Women have started catering to the school children.

Our vision is to be a model of excellence in education, training and leadership to help under privileged communities become catalysts of positive change and development. Excellence is achieved through the establishment of clear learning objectives, monitoring student performance against the objectives, and programs to meet children’s needs.

Emphasis is placed on strong literacy and numeracy skills that are the critical foundation for all other academic achievement and for a lifetime of success. These include reading, writing and mathematics. ALDO incorporates good governance and citizenship to help the future leaders of Uganda

Amazing Love School- Nakyere Village

The current project is the Amazing Love School in Nakyere village, Eastern Uganda. The children are five years behind those in other regions in literacy scores. The school is home to over 400 children from Kindergarten to Grade six. The school is open to all children irrespective of religion, gender or race.
