The Homes for Children Corporation

  • About Us

The Homes for Children Corporation (HFCC) is a nonprofit organization that provides a home for children and life skills training for at-risk girls. HFCC offers assistance to girls, frequently homeless, as they move from dependent, often abusive relationships into independent, self-sufficient lifestyles. This is the city's only girls only residential treatment facility and the only one with the long-term housing. The facility provides clients with an eight=step program that teaches them necessary life skills. This collaborative approach to empowerment is the keystone to developing self-sufficient in the clients. The steps include personal development, vocational training, substance abuse counseling, interpersonal skills building, community involvement, leisure activities, and independent living skills.

It is our mission to help troubled female youth who are abused, neglected, or runaways become independent, productive adults. To fulfill this mission, the Homes for Children Corporation provides a broad spectrum of educational, residential and engaging programsthat inspire adolescent girls to identify themselves as valuable, powerful, and beautiful young women. It is also our mission to cultivate sustainable mentorship networks to affirm these girls and by providing a safe place for them to share the details of their life journey.
