Rake Project

The R.A.K.E. Project is a nonprofit corporation, organized under the laws of the State of Maryland and qualified under section 501(c)(3) as a tax exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service. The organization was founded on evidence that middle-class, working individuals in America are the backbone of our economic growth and stability. Currently, we see a decline in this segment’s representation in America; the middle class is shrinking and falling into the depths of poverty due to our current economic crisis. While this population represents the heart of our culture, it is also the most vulnerable living paycheck to paycheck, and dangerously vulnerable to unexpected, emergency situations with financial implications. These situations cause distress to employees and thus their employers as well. Our program offers an opportunity for employers to offer relief for the unexpected basic, pressing needs of their employees.
