YES College Preparatory Schools

YES College Preparatory Schools is an open-enrollment, public charter school district in Houston Texas. YES’s mission is to provide a comprehensive 6th-12th grade model that equips low-income students with the skills they will need to attend and complete college. YES began in 1995 and currently includes four campuses in the greater Houston area. The schools serve nearly 1,500 low-income students in from over 80 zip codes across the city. The YES charter mandates that students must be accepted to a four-year college in order to receive their high school diploma. Since 2001, six classes of YES seniors have graduated and 100% have been accepted to a four-year college. YES graduates have been accepted to 118 schools nationwide and have earned over $5.5 million in scholarships. Most significantly, 85% of YES graduates are the first generation in their families to attend college.
