Breaking Free

Our Mission is to empower and educate our community to prevent and heal from sexual violence.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to:

 Self-defense and empowerment trainings, including workshops, classes and presentations throughout our community

 Unique curricula developed with two Rape Prevention Education grants aimed at educating and empowering young women ages 11-18 and adults with developmental disabilities

 Self-defense related educational materials, including the Self-Defense from the Inside Out workbook and a popular, colorful book of daily affirmations for girls

Breaking Free was founded in 2000 as the result of years of conversations about how to disseminate projects that transform women from feelings of pain, helplessness or fear into feelings of power.
